Return to listTGM Wind Services Turns to Federal Signal for Wind Turbine Access Platforms
Kevin Darby, vice president of TGM Wind Services stated, "Our long-term goal is to provide wind turbine owners nationwide with the highest quality, most comprehensive inspection and maintenance services available at the lowest possible cost. Federal Signal's Bronto Skylift access platform will help take us there."
Access to greener, cleaner power
Bronto Skylift access platforms have been used in Europe for many years and have been time-tested in the toughest conditions. When elevated, they can withstand winds of up to 35 mph and can lift up to 1,000 lbs. of men and materials on a fully enclosed platform -- to a 295 ft. working height. The platforms provide superior productivity for inspecting, cleaning and repairing rotor blades on wind turbines.
Esa Peltola, president of Federal Signal's Bronto Skylift business unit noted, "Advanced controls enable deployment of the Bronto aerial device in 15 to 20 minutes less than other systems. On sites with multiple wind power towers, the savings in time and money in transportation and set-up costs can be considerable. We are pleased to help TGM Wind Services tap into the growing wind power market."
"The potential of wind power to help meet the growing energy needs of the United States is quickly gaining serious attention and investment," said William H. Osborne, president and CEO of Federal Signal Corporation. "Our Bronto Skylift access platforms offer wind power customers unparalleled opportunities to reduce expenses and provide faster and safer wind turbine maintenance and inspection services."
