Cookies

Federal Signal Corporation exercises reasonable efforts to keep the information secure and respect your online privacy. When you use our websites, mobile sites, and mobile applications (collectively referred to as our "Platform"), we collect personal information about you over time and across different websites, mobile sites, mobile applications, and devices. Third parties also collect personal information this way on our Platform.

Our Use of Cookies

We use a standard technology commonly referred to as “cookies” to improve our users’ experience on our Platform.  We may also use web beacons, tracking pixels, flash cookies, and similar technologies. We also have third parties that collect personal information this way. Our vendors may also use these tools.

For further detailed information about how we treat personal information, please click here to see our Privacy Policy.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small data files that contain information an online platform uses for tracking purposes. Cookies enable our Platform to recognize you each time you visit us.  Cookies may also help in additional ways such as by saving your region and language preferences and for purposes of collecting information about how you use our Platform.

How Do We Use Information We Collect From Cookies?

When you visit our Platform, cookies may be used to differentiate you from other users. The data these cookies provide, together with our web servers’ log files, allows us to calculate the number of unique and repeat visitors to our Platform. This feedback helps us to continually improve our Platform and better serve our users. We may also use cookies to provide you with information about our products that may interest you.

Why Do Our Websites Use Cookies?

We use different types of cookies on our sites, including the following:

Strictly necessary cookies: These are cookies that are used by the Platform’s server computer to manage your browser’s session with the Platform. If you log onto our Platform, cookies are necessary for the login to work properly. These are session cookies and they are deleted when you close your browser.

Analytics and Performance cookies: They allow us to recognize and count the number of Platform visitors and to see how visitors move around within our Platform. This helps us improve the way our Platform work, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.

Functionality cookies: These are used to recognize you on return visits to our Platform and to embed functionality from third-party services. This enables us to personalize content for you, greet you by name, and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region) on certain parts of our Platform.

Targeting/ Advertising cookies: These cookies may record your visit to our Platform; the pages you have visited on our Platform; and others and the links you have followed. We may use this information to make the advertising displayed to you more relevant to your interests.

Third-Party cookies. We also use and work with several third-party suppliers and partners who set or read cookies on our Platform. These can be individual or a combination of social media cookies/plugins like Facebook and Instagram buttons, and embedded third-party content, like maps or videos. We do not have any control over these cookies. You should check the relevant third party’s privacy policy for more information about how these cookies are used.

How to Control and Delete Cookies

Your browser may give you the ability to control cookies. How you do so depends on the type of cookie. Certain browsers can be set to reject browser cookies. To find out more about how to enable, disable, or delete cookies from your web browser, please visit here. To control flash cookies, which we may use on our Platform from time to time, you can go here.  Why?  Because flash cookies cannot be controlled through your browser settings.

Our Do Not Track Policy: Some websites have “do not track” features that allow you to tell a website not to track you. These features are not all uniform. We do not currently respond to those signals. If you block cookies, certain features on our sites may not work. If you block or reject cookies, not all of the tracking described here will stop.

The options you select are browser and device-specific.

Opting out of interest-based advertising

Interest-based advertising or “online behavioral advertising” includes ads served to you after you leave our Platform, encouraging you to return. They also include ads we think are relevant based on your shopping habits or online activities. These ads might be served on websites, mobile sites, or mobile applications. They might also be served in emails. We might serve these ads, or third parties may serve ads.

The Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising provides consumers with the ability to opt out of having their online behavior recorded and used for advertising purposes. To opt out of having your online behavior collected for advertising purposes, click here.

Changes

We may make changes to this Cookie Notice at any time by posting a copy of them on our Platform. Any changes will be effective based on the posting date of the notice. Your continued use of our Platform after that period expires means that you agree to be bound by the modified Cookie Notice.
